All Sites May Harm Your Computer, One More Bug by Google

I tried searching for some stuff and was astonished to find that all the links were marked as Malware warning “This site may harm your computer.” in Google search.  To check if this really was a bug I did search for for “Google” in Google search and hey they had marked their own site as Malware.

What is going on? Is Google going to release a new anti Malware to mark sites which are harmful & have found themselves in a bed of bugs? or has someone who was fired just introduced this bug by purpose? No answers yet.

This is the message that I get when I click on any search links.

Update: Google has fixed it!!

The reason for this error as explained by Marissa Mayer, VP, Search Products & User Experience in googleblog is:

We periodically update that list and released one such update to the site this morning. Unfortunately (and here's the human error), the URL of '/' was mistakenly checked in as a value to the file and '/' expands to all URLs. Fortunately, our on-call site reliability team found the problem quickly and reverted the file. Since we push these updates in a staggered and rolling fashion, the errors began appearing between 6:27 a.m. and 6:40 a.m. and began disappearing between 7:10 and 7:25 a.m., so the duration of the problem for any particular user was approximately 40 minutes.
